by, Riya Nanda
The weather is getting cold, and this means harsh conditions for your skin and hair. But have no worries, NEEM has a few ways to make sure you stay radiant.
HEAD —- You’re hair is the first thing that the cold weather hits when you walk outside. The cold weather is harsh on your hair. You go from heat to cold back to the heat and the fluctuation in temperature can do a number. Here are some tips to help you keep it from getting dry.
-ALWAYS use conditioner. The conditioners with moisturizers work the best.
- -Once a week use Head and Shoulders or any other “dandruff control” shampoo. This will help reduce
- the dandruff caused by a dry scalp.
- -While your hair is wet, run a hair serum through it to help lock in all the moisture.
- Suggested Products: Dove conditioner and Pantien Pro-V hair serum
FACE/BODY
- The cold air dries out your skin very fast. But don’t worry! Here are some helpful tips to keep your skin
- glowing.
- -Cut the hot showers guys!!! Hot water actually tends to dry out your skin more. I know it’s a cold day
- and all you want is a nice hot shower, but keep it warm. It’ll help your skin.
-Moisturize!!!! After drying yourself off after a nice WARM shower, use lotion to help lock in moisture.
Also, try to apply lotion twice a day, in the morning before you head out the door, and at night right
before you get to bed. Using moisturizers with SPF 15 also helps the sun from causing damage to your
skin.
- Try to not use just any kind of soaps especially on your face. A lot of soaps tend to dry out your skin
and wash away the natural oils your body gives off. Try using soap with lotion or moisturizers added in
them. On your face, try using cleansers.
-Lips!! Let’s not forget about your lips. Make sure you use chap-stick or lip balm to keep your lips moisturized. This will help against the blistering wind and keep your lips soft.
-Eyes!!! Make sure to keep a bottle of eye drops in your pocket or purse. When the weather gets cold dry eyes can be a problem especially when you go from cold air to warm heat.

HANDS/FEET
-Because its flu season, it is recommended you wash your hands after just about EVERYTHING. This causes dry hands and can cause havoc on your cuticles. Always keep lotion in your car, purse, or jacket pocket. Also, try to get cuticle oil to put on your nails once a week. This will help prevent hang nails and dried out cuticles.
- Its cold and you tend to wear socks and shoes. Meaning, your feet sweat. Make sure you wash your feet in warm water and lotion/oil it up. This will help with dry soles and also help prevent fungus and other bacteria from growing on your feet. (The kind that cause Athletes foot)
